National Prescription Take Back Day Appears on Laguna Niguel’s October 24 Calendar

LAGUNA NIGUEL, Orange County — October 23, 2026. California58 Local reviewed the municipal calendar and agenda archive. An event listing is not a guarantee of hours or eligibility; verify specific details with the organizer before traveling.

When is the event?

Laguna Niguel’s municipal community calendar lists National Prescription Take Back Day on Saturday, October 24, 2026. These events are intended to make it easier to dispose of qualifying unused medications through designated collection programs rather than retain unnecessary medicines at home.

Can you bring any medication?

Not necessarily. Acceptance rules for liquids, sharps, inhalers and other items vary by organizer and site. A title in a community calendar does not establish that a particular pharmacy or police facility accepts every type of prescription product.

Why should residents confirm the location?

Some community drop-offs operate only for a few hours, while year-round collection kiosks may have separate rules. Before traveling, check the exact collection site, opening hours and applicable identification or packaging instructions with the event organizer or DEA’s take-back resources.

What about privacy?

Residents should protect personal information on old prescription labels and follow official instructions for removing or obscuring identifying details where possible. Do not post photographs of medicine containers with personal data or take-back site staff online without permission.
